The Comenius University in Bratislava is the oldest university in the Slovak Republic. Founded in 1919,  it follows the university tradition of the Academia ‘Istropolitana’, which was established in Bratislava by Matthias Corvinus, the Hungarian King, in 1465.

The Department of Applied and Environmental Geophysics is the only faculty of applied geophysics in Slovakia. The department performs geophysical surveys at the local and regional levels, recognizing the increasing importance that the use of applied geophysics in archaeology has acquired in recent years.

Tasks in LoCloud:  definition and development of local data collection, national dissemination (WP6), engagement of small and medium-sized institutions, testing of applications developed in WP3.
